Manufacturing support is part of every specialized domain during development and the sustaining phases of a product life cycle. Our System and Software personnel are experienced in the long maintenance cycles that military and medical projects typically go through. Performance improvements and feature enhancements can lead to a competitive edge for our products after initial market launch. We use a Change Request Management system for recording all problems, change requests, and feature enhancements during development. This allows us to defer non-critical improvements and provides a searchable database to document previous change decisions and selected paths. Our incremental development approach allows sustaining to be treated similarly to the initial development. Hardware and Software source code is configuration controlled to ensure multiple fielded versions can be simultaneously supported as needed.
